Freedom to Pray

I love July! Living close to an Air Force base, I love to see the procession of active duty and retired service personnel from all branches of the military at my church as they are recognized in song. It reminds me of my dad, and how much I appreciate his service before I was even born. I stop to ponder the active service of friends and family members.

We would not have our freedom without their sacrifice.

Americans are indeed a privileged people.

Perhaps you are like me – sad and confused by the events of the world, but I am reminded that believers have an even greater hope and freedom. We have freedom in Christ.

We have freedom to worship. We enjoy freedom from our sins through Jesus. We have freedom to pray and to take take our cares and concerns and turn them over to One who has the power to do something, Jesus Christ.

We have the freedom to be children of God.

We have the blessing of going to Him in prayer.

anytime.

anywhere.

How will you worship Him today? How will you talk to Him through prayer and thanksgiving?
